Student
groups will calibrate a servo motor that they will then use as
an arm for the SAM robot. The servo motor is controlled by using
the program SAMPUTR. The program operates the servo by inputting
a pulse width. Students will be challenged to collect data and
determine what the relationship is between pulse width and the
angle position the servo turns to. A linear function will then
be used to control the servo. In the end, students will automate
SAM to move to wherever the ball is placed and knock it off !
