Students:
- Predict
qualitatively how a moving electrically charged particle
will be deflected by a magnetic field,
- Design,
test and evaluate a system to confine a simulated charged
particle, and
- Discuss
the promise and the challenges related to hydrogen fusion
as a possible long-term solution to energy
needs.
The
activity uses the SAM
Robot and a magnetic field probe with the
LabPro or the CBL2.
